FAQ

Curate for Hospitality is a module within Curate, the digital wine platform and app, that drives exceptional guest experiences and supports revenue growth for restaurants and wine bars.
It centers around our Digital Portfolio product, which combines elements of traditional price lists with visual tasting notes, terroir characteristics, winemaking data, and venue brand assets to create an engaging digital experience that customers can use to explore wines available for purchase.
While Curate was designed to accomodate wine lists of every shape and size, venues with any of the following characteristics are likely to realize pronounced value from a Digital Portfolio implementation:
- Multi-Course Menus: Curateâs Flights feature is perfect for showcasing qualities of wine pairings for each course throughout tasting/degustation menus. Our Food Pairing functionality supports both Ă Â la carte and prix fixe dining formats.
- Lengthy Lists: Our advanced data organization features provide the greatest utility to longer wine lists. But whether your cellar has 25 SKUs or 25,000, Curate can search, filter, group, and sort it in milliseconds.
- Premium Selections: Communicating the unique character of boutique, luxury, and iconic wines is critical to selling pricier bottles to sophisticated and selective patrons.
- Artisanal Selections: Venues offering wines crafted using specialty viticultural and enological practices (biodynamic, kosher, low alcohol, natural, organic, reduced sulfite, sustainable, unfined/unfiltered, vegan, etcâŠ) can surface these characteristics in both filter options and wine profile previews.
- Technology-Forward: Establishments placing a heavy emphasis on modern guest experiences and streamlined/data-driven operations see benefits both on the floor and in the back office.
Our Digital Portfolios are designed to supplement the role of sommeliers and waitstaff, with these considerations:
- For Full-Service Environments:
- Staff can shift their focus towards unique selections and pairing qualities, allowing guests to explore tasting notes on their own if interested. This approach can also increase the breadth and consistency of details communicated about the wines.
- Guests can more easily establish a rapport with staff after reading their mini-biographies and personal recommendations on available wines within the Digital Portfolio.
- Staff may be able to maintain more tables concurrently as a result of guests finding wine details in the Digital Portfolio without needing to ask.
- For Self-Service Environments (e.g. WineStationÂź):
- Guests are able to access a wealth of details about the wines on-tap, fostering an engaging experience even in the absence of a hospitality professional.
- Coming SoonGuests can plan their tasting journey similar to a music playlist, adding and rearranging wines of interest, and keep pulse of which theyâve already experiened.
It would, in most circumstancesâDigital Portfolios are designed to support every wine, pairing, and pricing scenario as a full replacement for printed wine lists. However, hybrid implementations are also possible, i.e. Retain a paper menu of wines available by-the-glass, adding to it a QR Code that links to a Portfolio. This approach achieves a balance between the convenience and tactile experience of quality paperstock with the information density and browsing tools of a touchscreen interface.

Curateâs team coordinates the onboarding process and interfaces with beverage directors and sommeliers directly. We aim to provide white-glove onboarding to build a Digital Portfolio that accurately represents your cellar with an appearance consistent with your brand standards. Then, following initial setup, your team can make incremental updates to available wines and their prices as changes arise.
Every Digital Portfolio includes a self-service management dashboard wherein beverage directors and sommeliers can add and remove wines/vintages, as well as update pricing and availability in real-time.
Curate is available as a native app on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and the Play Store for Android, and also as a Webapp for Browsers.
Guests accessing a Digital Portfolio on their own device do not need to install the app; all functionality is available in the web-based version.
Curate for Hospitality is offered as a subscription service on an annual basis. Each subscription includes a branded Digital Portfolio for one physical location that seamlessly blends food pairings, tasting notes, winemaking details, and pricing of wines for on-site guests and website visitors. Initial setup cost varies based on the number of vintages being represented. Once deployed, your Digital Portfolio can be viewed an unlimited number of times and used on an unlimited number of devices at no additional cost.
